“De Tierra y Mar” (“Of Land and Sea”) was inspired by the work entitled “Flaming June” by artist Sir Frederic Leighton. Williams’ version captures her sister Bianca as her muse, simultaneously resting in and made of the natural forms presented. The artist collaborated closely with her sister in the conceptualization and development of the works in this series. The artist credits her sister’s creative vision and discerning eye for teaching her how to think critically as an artist. “De Tierra y Mar" serves to commemorate her sister’s foundational influence, drawing upon a visual language devised in tandem.
