Dorado

(2021) acrylic on canvas, 18 x 24 in.

This painting was commissioned by the artist’s uncle, Hiram Williams. Dorado Beach was a place where the family gathered throughout the artist’s childhood. After the passing of her grandparents, Rufina and Bernabé Williams, their ashes were spread on this beach. Their portraits are memorialized within the greenery rendered on the left.
