This second piece of the diptych presents the face of the artist's father, Bernie, set against the landscape of Cerro Gordo Beach in Puerto Rico. As an adult, Williams returned to this place, photographing its sunsets and later reimagining them in paint. During the process, she learned stories of her father’s childhood on this beach, which deepened her connection to both the work and her family’s history. Creating this piece affirmed her motivation to explore personal subject matter rooted in memory and heritage.
